Anthony Kinsella was born in Dublin in 1983. His first short, directed at 15 won the Fresh Film Festival in 2000. A trained actor he acted in, wrote and directed The Man in the Boot in 2009 which won a number of festivals in Ireland and the UK. They Make You Grow A Beard is his fourth directorial effort and first time screening in the United States.
