Luis Quijano is a Mexican director, producer, and screenwriter from Mérida, Yucatán. Since 2017, he has directed music videos, web series, commercials, short films, and feature films in Mexico and the United States. In 2023, he founded Balché Films, a production company focused on sociocultural stories within the horror and fantasy genres. His work has been showcased internationally, including at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles as part of NFMLA's In Focus: Latinx & Hispanic Cinema. He has been a NALIP Emerging Content Creator Fellow (2019, 2022) and a participant of Hola Mexico Film Festival’s Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today program presented by HBO & the HFPA. Quijano has directed branded content for Funko & Yucatan Symphony Orchestra, as well as music videos for independent artists, and is currently in post-production of his first feature Me Gusta Más Crudo (co-directed with Fabio Colonna). His recent short film AVEM premiered at the 2025 New York Latino Film Festival and is starting its festival circuit around the world.
