Laura Malatos & Helen Sun are a writing-filmmaking duo known for their genre-bending worlds, overly ambitious characters, and a very “right-brained” “left-brained” dynamic, which, luckily, between the two of them, completes a full brain. Despite being born 5,000 miles apart (in Seattle and literal Moscow, Russia), they joined forces at USC and have been insufferable to those around them ever since. Their first produced pilot, “DOOMED”, secured distribution on PBS SoCal, Roku, and several obscure local channels in the UK. And their pilot script, “Closing Costs”, landed them placements in the Black List Episodic Lab, Women in Film Fellowship, and Austin FF. While their parents are already really proud of them, Helen & Laura are currently on a greedy hunt for their next Hollywood paycheck in hopes of one day blowing it all on a rundown haunted castle in Scotland.
