Synopsis
Six months after her husband's sudden death, medical examiner Helena Martinez runs a small morgue on the California–Mexico border, holding herself and her teenage daughter together by not talking about it. Then sixteen bodies arrive at once: an elderly cult that took its own lives in a ritual meant to raise their leader from the dead. Processing them, Helena finds the ceremony recorded on the members' own camcorder; and one survivor still breathing in the hospital next door. He tells her the ritual can be finished. She has a body of her own.

Andrés Beltrán is a Colombian writer-director based in Los Angeles, recognized for crafting visually striking genre worlds, moving seamlessly between psychological horror and explosive action. Drawing on Latin American folklore, his latest supernatural horror feature, Postmortem, which became a Screenplay finalist at Sitges Pitchbox, in addition to earning Special Mention, stars Odette Annable and Tony Revolori. Beltrán first gained international recognition with the supernatural thriller Tarumama, which premiered at Sitges, where it was quickly acquired by HBO. For propulsive series like Wild District on Netflix and MalaYerba on Starz, Andrés shifts gears to embrace a kinetic, guerrilla style action driven by momentum and visceral energy, while once again utilizing a landscape of bold and vibrant color.
