Synopsis
In a mountain estate in Puerto Rico lives a family with hidden secrets. On a night of rebellion, Naomi, the young teenage daughter, confronts the eight-legged parasite looming in her home and must make a choice: conform to her family’s identity or forge her own path.

Nicola Rios is a filmmaker and editor drawn to stories that feel like apparitions, flickers of memory, longing, and inherited emotion. Inspired by surrealist and horror traditions from Latin America, her work centers on womanhood, loneliness, and the uncanny, often slipping between the poetic and the tangled, the intimate and the chaotic. Her short film Telaraña embodies this impulse; weaving a web of memory, trauma, and fractured girlhood into a haunted landscape. She finds home in the liminal, where trauma lives in symbols, families fracture like mirrors, and girlhood becomes a site of both tenderness and terror.
